The North Remembers

The Dark Hedges, aka the King's Road, formed by beech trees alongside the eerie road were first planted in the 18th century as part of the Gracehill House which was owned by the Stuart Family. The original intent was to make an impressive entrance to the mansion, however, today the road actually attracts much more attention than the house itself. It was among one of the best road trip experiences in Ireland and it became much more famous when it served as the King's Road in the first episode of the Game of Thrones' second season. The name of the episode is as hauntingly beautiful as the avenue, since the trees, located in the North, are almost 200 years old now as parts of Ireland's long history. Maybe here, the north remembers the part of it after all.
